The student's library experience is an intergral part of the teaching and learning program of the school, and all lessons are cooperatively planned by the teacher Librarian and the classroom teachers to provide rich learning experiences.
Students have one library lesson a week, and the library is also open at lunchtime on Thursday. The Library can be searched from home via the 'my library' tab in the student portal.
We promote the reading of quality literature. One way is through participating in the NSW Premier's Reading Challenge. All Daceyville students are expected to take the challenge, and are provided time during their Library lessons to borrow the books and record their reading. Students are encouraged to record their reading online using the link in their student portal, or via Premier's Reading Challenge. We particularly recognise quality Australian literature, and celebrate the best during Book Week, which is organised by the Children's Book Council of Australia.
