It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Daceyville school community. At Daceyville we are committed to ensuring that all students are provided with an engaging, supportive and inspiring learning environment. We are proud of our diverse community and value the cultural knowledge that our students and community members bring to their learning and the school. We work hard to help students to make connections between their learning and life beyond the school gates by engaging students in project-based learning, working closely with community members and different agencies and providing opportunities for students to present their work to a range of audiences.
We build strong relationships with parents and carers and collaborate with them to ensure all students achieve their personal best academically, socially and emotionally and are prepared to be life-long learners and active global citizens. All students are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning, their behaviour and the wellbeing of other members of the community through our well- developed programs, including 'positive behaviour for learning' and 'circle time'. Students are taught a range of strategies to build self-esteem, resilience and social and emotional skills to help them maintain positive relationships and to take risks with their learning.
At Daceyville, students are offered a range of extra-curricular opportunities, including a band program, dance groups, drumming groups, primary school sports association (PSSA) sport, gardening club, choir and recorder ensemble. We are proud of the learning programs offered within and outside the classroom and are committed to ensuring all of our students achieve their potential.
