Daceyville Public School is a community focused public school serving a diverse area of east sydney. Set in large landscaped grounds it maximises the use of the heritage building and new facilities in order to provide an engaging and well cared for learning environment for all students. We have an enrolment of approximately 290 students, including approximately 65% of students from a language background other than English. We welcome a number of students each year whose parents are international students at the University of New South Wales.
The school has three core values: respect; safety and lifelong learning, that underpin all aspects of programs and practices. Highly skilled teachers engage in a range of professional learning activities and programs designed to ensure that all students are provided with learning opportunities of the highest quality that maximise the potential of each student.
The school offers a range of extra-curricular opportunities which are highly valued by the school community, including a school band program, dance groups, recorder ensembles, choir, a drumming group, art club, chess club and a gardening and outdoor learning program. We work closely with our community and local organisations to enhance these programs and ensure students recognise the purpose of their learning in the world beyond school.
Our wellbeing processes ensure that all members of the wider school community are supported effectively so that students are able to focus on learning and make the most of their time at school.
